English American breakfast during the week of languages - may 2017
After studying about Rosa Parks in class, let's look at civil rights activists.
Thanks to Shehnaz, our Indian assistant, you have learnt a lot about India, the state of Goa where she comes from and also about the school system.
As part of the EPI, some of you have written articles for the madmagz, but others have written articles for this blog.
Here are some examples:
" Since 1st April, 2010, School is free from 6 to 14 There is a lack of schools in the countryside but there are world famous schools in the cities.. In India, there are 5 different types of schools. Pre-Primary education (from 18 month to 5), Primary education ( from 6 to 10), Middle school ( from 11 to 14), secondary education ( from 14 to 16) and higher secondary (from 17 to 18). In India, schools are very competitive, they focus on memorisation and learning more than creativity and art. Students are studying English, Regional Language(s), Science, Maths, Social Science, Physical education, Technology (only a bit), History , Geography, Literature, Philosophy, Religion, Economics and Physics.
In India, there are two different types of schools: private schools and public schools. Public schools are free, but there are a lat more students in class, there are less facilities and too many subjects too study, students can't boil everything and students may not have the attention they need to understand completely. Besides that, students have more time management skills, due to the big ammount of homeworks they need to do.
Private schools aren't free, but they have more facilities. There are way less sudents in class, wich is more relaxing for them.
Private school students are less independant because the teachers are simplifying everithing and making things easier.
